Our connected world periodically goes crazy, so does the culinary world, and when a food is both healthy and on the cutting edge, things often get out of hand. A few days before we do the current episode of TEAsting, I contact our tea expert from Tea House Plovdiv – Adrian Kumbiliev, with the simple and clear question: “Are you ready for the matcha test?”, and he also answers me briefly: “I am ready, but the matcha is over, they bought it! I’m waiting for another shipment from Japan very soon, we’ll open it together!”. So on the day of the test, I flew into the Tea House with a bag of my favorite matcha waffles. As much as I didn’t want to, I promised to try the matcha waffles after the cupping (tasting).
